Agriculture currently contributes 30% of the GDP directly and 25% indirectly. The sector accounts for nearly 70% of the Kenyan exports and provides 20% formal employments. More than 70% of the agricultural sector is in the rural areas. Transforming agriculture therefore is essential for critical wealth- creation for Kenyans through enhancement of equity and providing productive employment in the mid- term as the country strives to industrialize and ascend the regional and global value- chain. In this case, Global Partnerships Organization (GPO) will focus on facilitating the implementation of a number of agricultural blue-prints, calls for reforms that target returning the farmer back to the epicenter of the management of the agricultural sector.
